Bitexco Group began entering and operating in the oil and gas sector in the early 2010s, with the vision of becoming a strong and reputable private corporation, making important contributions to the development direction of the petroleum industry industry of Vietnam.
In 2011, Bitexco Energy was established under the name of Bitexco Oil & Gas as a member of Bitexco Group.
On September 12th 2012, the contract of 09-3/12 Block was signed: Bitexco Oil&Gas (15%), Vietsovpetro (55%), PVEP (30%). Discovered oil and started exploiting.
On May 16th 2016, the contract of 16-1/15 Block was signed : Bitexco Oil&Gas (10%), Vietsovpetro (51%), Bitexco Group 10%, Sovico 10%. Discovered oil in a well water.
On November 25th 2019, Ca Tam field was discovered in 16-1/15 Block, exploited the first oil flow.
In 2021, Bitexco Oil&Gas changed its name to Bitexco Energy LLC.
In December 2021, Bitexco Energy brought and owned 60% of 15-2/01 Block from Talisman along with PVEP (40%). In exploitation.
On December 19th 2022, signed the contract of 12W Block from Ophir and currently in a process of applying for a foreign investment license; owned 31.875% along with Harbour Energy (53,125%), PVEP (15%). In exploitation.
