The Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for Block 12W was signed on November 17, 2000, with the area of the block being the combined area of the previous Blocks 12E and 12W, collectively referred to as the Block 12W Production Sharing Contract (PSC 12W). The term of PSC 12W extends until November 17, 2030. The current parties to the contract include: Habour Energy (53.125%) – Operator; Bitexco (31.875%); and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (“PVEP” - 15%). The Chim Sao and Dua fields, located within Block 12W, have a combined development and production area of 183 km2, situated in the Nam Con Son Basin, approximately 350 km southeast of Vung Tau. First oil was achieved at the Chim Sao field in 2011 and at the Dua field in 2014. As of December 31, 2022, Block 12W has produced 79.218 million barrels of oil and 115.82 trillion cubic feet (bcf) of gas. The average production rate in 2022 was approximately 6,350 barrels of oil per day and 272 million cubic feet (mmcf) of gas. The total estimated recoverable reserves are 93.2 million barrels of oil and 155.3 bcf of gas.
